The tasks a Crusher Operator, Sugarcane is expected to perform include:

Setting and operating power driven roll pressure to extract juice from sugarcane for making sugar, gur and khandsari sugar

Receiving instructions and setting roll pressure according to type of sugarcane

Extracting maximum possible amount of juice without damaging rollers or machinery

Watching cane crushing operations both by sight and sound

Directing rate and speed of crushing according to load

Mixing juice from subsequent set of rollers to previous one and removing bagasse

Attending to oiling and cleaning of rollers and major and minor repairs

Conducting overhauling and major repairs during off-season

Knowledge of safety and hygiene regulations

Proficient in operating roll pressure machines

Ability to troubleshoot the machine

Skilled in extracting juice without damage and minimum wastage

Knowledge of traditional and modern ways of making gur and khandsari

Basic knowledge of extracting sugar and its by-products

Today there are 448 mills with average size of 2150 TPD with some units of 10000 TCD and few of 5000 TCD. This shows that in coming decades a boom can be expected in the sector with immense demand of trained professionals. Therefore, the career as a Crusher Operator, Sugarcane has a bright future and opportunities are only going to rise in coming time.
