The tasks a Juice Heater Helper is expected to perform include:

Cleaning the juice heaters and assisting the Juice Heater Man in operating the heaters for heating the juice in sugar manufacturing

Opening and adjusting the valves as directed by the Juice Heater Man

Manning and admitting raw juice into the tubes or cylinders of the juice heater

Assisting in maintaining constant, specified, steam pressure during heating

Lifting the heater top cover

Removing the left-over juice and periodically cleaning the tubes, cylinders and other parts of the heaters

Using the portable power-driven or hand brush, cleaning rod, water, etc.

Getting the juice heater emptied by carrying the hot juice in buckets in case of leakage of tubes or breakdown of heater

Assisting in letting live steam into the juice heater

Repairing and overhauling of the heaters

Skilled in using hydrometers to maintain the necessary pressure

Basic knowledge of machine cleaning techniques followed in the manufacturing industry

Knowledge of operating juice heaters

Basic knowledge of heating methods to produce sugar

Familiar with the entire process of sugar processing
