The tasks a Pitting Machine Operator (Food Canning& Preserving) is expected to perform include:

Operating and feeding the machine to remove pits, seeds or stones from fruits prior to canning and preserving them

Feeding the fruits by hand into the hopper of the machine

Observing the revolving of the drum containing fruits

Stopping the drum when un-pitted fruit positions pitting knives

Removing the pits, seeds or stones from the fruits

Examining the product periodically to ensure that the process is proceeding correctly

Knowledge of safety and hygiene regulations

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control

Ability to troubleshoot the machine

Knowledge of relevant tools and equipment

Skilled in operating pitting machine
