Before taking any decision, it is advisable to be aware of the different options we have available. Career Decisions should be no different. However given the vast and fast changing world of work, it becomes difficult for us to choose a specific occupation from a large career list or a career library, ranging from a few hundreds to a few thousand options. Most popular assessments recommend us to look at a few (top 5 or 10 or 15) of these specific occupations based on our results. World of work is divided into 6 career paths that are further divided into 16 clusters and further into pathways. These contain occupations in the same field of work requiring similar skills. Paths an cluster model is useful for career exploration by school students. College Students and professionals are directly recommended the suitable pathways and specific occupations.

The entire world of work can be divided into around 1016 specific occupational roles and these are linked to both exploration models provided. Model is useful for exploration by college students and professionals for in depth analysis.


Job Families (For Counsellors)

The entire world of work can be divided into 23 job families based upon tasks, work context, skills, education required etc. Model is useful for interpretation by counsellors and results are provided in the counsellor report. It provides an alternate view to the paths and cluster model recommendation.


These career exploration models divide the entire set of occupations (also referred as a career taxonomy) available in the world of work, comprehensively and accurately into broad level career paths or job families and then further as career clusters and pathways or sub job families. With only a small number of paths, clusters and job families to explore our tasks become easier as we can now know the entire world of work and can then systematically explore the career lists or a career library.
