Minimum B.Tech in Dairy Technology

Minimum experience of 1-6 years in related field

The tasks a Pasteurising Plant Operator (Dairy) is expected to perform include:

Operating the pasteurising plant to remove harmful bacteria from raw milk and other dairy products

Pumping cold raw milk or other dairy products through a heating tank

Maintaining liquid at required temperature for a specified time

Pumping liquid through cooling unit into bottling machine

Checking thermometers and gauges

Making necessary adjustments to ensure that liquid is properly pasteurised

Cleaning and sterilising tanks and inter-connecting pipes

Disconnecting filter and renewing or cleaning straining devices

Draining out pasteurised milk into container through tap fitted in plant

In particular the food processing industry getting in India has been recognized as a high-priority area. Considering all world data the Indian food and grocery market is the world?s sixth largest with its retail contributing 70 per cent of the sales. It is projected to grow at the rate of 104 per cent, touching US$ 482 billion by 2020. This indicates vast scope for both investors and exporters.

As per the Indian Dairy Industry 2014 Report, the White Flood in 1970s, the milk industry in India witnessed the first wave of development in the milk production which gave India its status of the largest milk producer in the world.

With all these figures in consideration it is safe to say that the demand for a Pasteurising Plant Operator (Dairy) is there in the present and will surely increase in the coming years.
