The tasks a Supervisor and Foreman, Machinery Fitting and Repairing is expected to perform include:
Supervising the fitting, assembling, overhauling and repairing of workshop and other machines and equipment
Ensuring that that there is stipulated performance
Examining the machine, if necessary, by actual operation so as to locate defects
Studying part of assembly drawings
Explaining the details of the assembly or repair work to be done to workers
Conducting work step by step
Getting defective and unserviceable parts repaired or replaced, as necessary
Checking the performance of completed machine or equipment
Maintaining the machinery in proper working condition
Taking the necessary steps during breakdown to get machine repaired or removed in least possible time
Ensuring minimum disruption of work
Maintaining the repairing, overhauling and breakdown registers, as prescribed
Skilled in supervising the repairing work at the workshop
Ability to make sure that the machines and equipment are in proper working condition
Ability to locate defects
Skilled in studying the various part of assembly drawings
Ability to properly explain all the details of the assembly work to the workers
Skilled in checking the performance of the repaired machine or equipment
Ability to properly install the machine and undertaking the required structural work
