Sheet Metal Supervisor

Minimum Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum experience of 2 to 7 years in relevant field

The tasks a Supervisor and Foreman, Sheet and Structural Metal Working is expected to perform include:

Supervising performance of sheet and structural metal workers

Guiding them as necessary and ensuring production to required specifications

Studying drawings and related specifications of sheet and structural metal work to be done

Planning machine, bench and hand tool operations to suit working

Guiding setting of shearing, handing, rolling, profiling other machines

Informing the workers about sizes required, forming and development to be made, working tolerance, etc.

Getting defects removed

Getting soldering, brazing, welding and other related operations done, if required

Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques

Knowledge of sheet metal and welding techniques

Skilled in fabrication, installation and repair of sheet metal and related products or equipment

Skilled in estimating time and material requirements of work projects assigned

Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training

Excellent communication skills

Leadership qualities

Physically fit

Hard working and persistent

Team player

It is not a desk job

The candidate will supervise a team of Floor Workers

Local travelling is necessary

Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available

Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary fromcompany to company
