The tasks an Inner Layer and Pressing Operator is expected to perform include:Cutting the panels to required size

Forming the inner layer of PCB panel

Performing oxide coating

Pressing together the inner layer laminates to the outer layer

Undertaking preventive maintenance of machine

Achieving productivity and quality standards

Proficiency in operation of cutting, forming, laminating and pressing machines

Adept in validating safety precautions to be taken while operating machines

Knowledge of computer operations and program loading

Familiar with defects in machines and remedies with causes

Proficiency in IPC standards for printed circuit boards

Familiar with basic electronics

Training in photograph development preferred

Physically fit

Orientation towards work safety

Excellent communication

Attention to detail

It is not a desk job

Work from home option is not available

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Need to handle a team of helpers or workers

Travelling is not a part of this job role

Indian PCB Industry

India?s PCB market has registered a 27 per cent growth, and its revenue is expected to touch Rs 9000 billion by 2016, which is considered much higher than most countries.

PCB players feel that India has to leapfrog and go generations ahead in terms of technology.

According to a report by the Indian Printed Circuit Association (IPCA), the demand for PCBs in India has increased at a CAGR of 35 per cent year on year. The local PCB industry not only serves the domestics market but about 24 per cent of what is manufactured annually is exported.2 The growth of the Indian PCB industry bodes well for job vacancies like Inner Layer and Pressing Operator in this field.
