The tasks a Manual Insertion Operator is expected to perform include:

Manually fixing different electronic components especially in through-hole assembly of components

Manually mounting electronic components on the printed circuit board (PCB)

Knowledge of basic electronics and component identification

Familiar with kitting or binning technique using bill of material Proficient in hand tools used for manual assembly Well-versed in manual soldering and rework of components Adept in hand soldering technique, handling the soldering iron, iron temperature, etc. Knowledge of soldering shortcomings Knowledge of basic characteristics of the components Skilled in color coding, reading values, polarity, orientation and marking Familiar with electro-static discharge (ESD) precautions Adept in lead cutting and component lifting Knowledge of safety, 5S practice and IPC standards for printed circuit boards

Growing Prospects in Indian Electronics Industry

India has a well-developed electronics design industry, with 120 design units and is ranked the second among the US, the UK, Germany, Sweden, China, Taiwan and Israel in terms of design revenues. Electronics is essential for setting up technology infrastructure, and semiconductors are the main component of electronics products. Electronics sales in India, which totaled US$ 40.7 billion in 2009, will touch US$ 400 billion by 2020. At present, local manufacturing accounts for about 40 per cent of consumption and it could increase to 80 per cent by 2020.The Government of India is continuously making efforts to boost Indian electronics industry and is attracting foreign and local players to invest in electronics sector of the country. For the purpose, the Government has set up an Empowered Committee that would invite a preliminary Expression of Interest (EoI) from potential technology providers and investors.

Automobile Sector?s Growth Will Lead to Rapid Growth of Cutting Tool Industry

The Indian cutting tool industry is heavily dependent on automobile industry with more than 50% of the cutting tool market gets business from the automotive sector. The recovery in automobile industry will help the Indian cutting tool industry to grow rapidly, said Saroj Kumar Sadangi, Assistant Manager Sales, Korloy Indian Tooling Pvt Ltd. We anticipate the automobile sector to grow by 6-7% and in line with that the machine tool industry too is expected to grow rapidly. This will help our company to present more innovative cutting tools and to increase our market share.?
