Showrooms that were using Incandescent Lamps have changed to CFL down lights due to government regulations. Since CFL is not effective on product display, proposals have been made to initiate central and state governments for regulation to commercial outlets to change to

LED down lights. Indian Government (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) has taken an initiative to provide LED streetlights to more than 100 municipalities as per its latest program. As an introduction for domestic application, attention has been provided for self-ballasted LED Lamps. Prices have reduced from 1200 last year to 650. They are more likely to further reduce to 300 to 400 by the end of this year.
