Indian PCB Market Size
India is slowly becoming the epicentre of PCB activities worldwide and this has resulted in the growth of the PCB design & manufacturing activities in the country. India?s PCB market is growing over 30% and some of the research suggests that this could touch over`4000 crore by the year 2016. This is significant when compared to most of the countries.
As per the Indian Printed Circuit Association (IPCA) report, many PCB units in India have grown in volume, turnover and this is an indicator for strong demand and exponential growth for PCB design houses, product companies in India.
The factors contributing to the PCB market growth are opening of Fab in India, the Preferential Market Access (PMA) service announced by the Government and mushrooming of the startups in this space. The market of the bare board PCB is about 25 to 30 billion and about 30 to 40% of that market is in India.
PCB manufacturers in India mostly cater across electronics applications in India except motherboards, mobiles and high-end telecom equipment. The main demands for PCBs come from consumer, industrial, and automotive electronics markets, as well as from Power & telecommunications.
An impressive 17% CAGR growing PCB demand
The market demand is expected to grow to over 45Mn SQM by 2014 from existing 17.7Mn SQM at a CAGR of 17%. The market is fairly large and there is no dependence on single or few suppliers or customers.
Projected HR Requirement
According to the IMaCS Analysis, the human resource requirement in the Electronics Components segment has been projected to grow from 1,49,000 in 2008 to 8,34,000 in 2022 that is an increment of 6,85, 000 resources.
