The tasks a Fabric Checker is expected to perform includes: Checking the fabric Inspecting the fabric before the fabric is passed on to the cutting stage
Working knowledge of operating fabric checking machine
Knowledge of identifying, rectifying and eliminating fabric errors
Knowledge of various fabric defects, their grade, weightage and procedure Knowledge of the metric system for yarn
Understand the importance of grain line and sleeve edges
Knowledge of fabric nap and identification of nap, printing and dying defects
Knowledge of how to fill the inspection records
Preferably training in fabric inspection
Eye for detail
Accuracy in work
Dexterity of hands
Hand-eye co-ordination
Good communication skills
Proficiency in basic maths
Not a desk job
Working from home is not available.Contractual work and part-time job is also available
