The tasks a Maintenance Mechanic is expected to perform include: Testing, analysing defecting, and maintaining telephone and telegraph equipment

Testing wiring and operation of electrical and mechanical components of telephone and telegraph apparatus

Checking operational efficiency and locating faults using voltmeter, resistance meter, watt meter, capacity meter and other instruments

Replacing defective components

Installing, repairing and adjusting equipment such as switches, relays amplifiers etc.Removing connections or wire distributing frames

Soldering wires to terminal lugs according to diagram

Conducting test checks periodically to maintain apparatus in operational efficiency

Maintaining telephone switching equipment at private establishments

Maintaining and repairing power apparatus and storage batteries

Knowledge about communication equipment, such as intercommunication systems, wired burglar alarms, switchboards, telegraphs, telephones, etc.Ability to maintains equipment and analyses operational malfunctioning

Well-versed in examining mechanism and disassembling components to replace

Proficient in repairing cables, laying out plans for new equipment, and estimating material required

Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, organization rules, and the democratic political process

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
