Minimum - Diploma in X-Ray Technology or Radiology

Previous relevant work experience

The tasks an X-Ray Mechanic is expected to perform include:

Installing, repairing and servicing high frequency X-ray, ultra-violet-ray and other radio therapy equipment in hospitals and clinics

Studying circuit diagrams and manufacturer's instructions for installation

Assembling X-ray and other physiotherapy units such as diathermy, ultra -violet-ray, infra-red units etc. and installing them in hospitals and clinics

Giving necessary power connections tox-ray and other units

Setting up and testing auxiliary units such as Potter Bucky table, tube columns, serial changers etc.

Rectifying defects if any and ensuring that they are working smoothly and efficiently

Testing x-ray machines and accessory equipment, locating operating difficulties and removing them by replacing fused tubes, meters, indicators, power cables, etc. as necessary

Repairing mechanical equipment such as Bucky table, hand time switch, locking devices,etc. as required

Servicing units periodically by filling transformer with oil; cleaning and oiling mechanical parts of x-ray units.,refilling tube heads, etc.

Maintaining records of types and serial numbers of units handled

Preparing job sheets and obtaining job completion certificates

Following circuit diagram and tracing electrical faults

Drilling and tapping using hand or machines

Competent in handling X-ray machines, X-ray related tools and equipment

Well-versed in functional communication skills with aids and devices

Proficient in electrical wiring systems, assembling complex machines,etc.

Knowledgeof circuit diagrams and implementing them

Ability to follow manual instructions for different X-ray machines

Basic computer knowledge for operating X-ray machine

Will be updated

Alertness and attentiveness

Problem solving skills

Good communication skills

Ability to read and write

It is not a desk job

May need to handle a team

Local travelling is a part of this job role

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Electronic companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company Shift system maybe available

Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible
