The tasks a Carrier Attendant (Telephone and Telegraph) is expected to perform include:

Operating and maintaining carrier equipment for connecting and arranging alternative lines with outside stations

Attending and maintaining telegraph and telephone career equipment

Testing trunk telephone lines and making operating adjustment in telegraph repeaters

Knowledge of communication equipment, such as working with copper or fibre optic cabling, complex networks and switching systems, etc.

Ability to maintain equipment and analyze operational malfunctioning

Well-versed with certain types of technology, such as telephone networks or broadband telecommunications

Proficient in arranging the repairs of cables and laying out plans for new equipment

Efficient in making sure that the work meets government standards and safety regulations

Ability to handle various equipment like trenchers, digger derricks, cable plows, and borers, etc.

Knowledge about telephony protocols

Ability to deploy new carrier interconnects

Knowledge about SIP/ Vo

IP/VPN

Will be updated
