The tasks a

Radio Mechanicis expected to perform include:

Testing, repairing, servicing and maintaining radio

Testing, repairing, servicing and maintaining radio receiving sets [JD1]in accordance with diagrams and manufacturers specifications, using hand tools and electrical measuring instrument

Removing radio cabinet from chassis

Examining equipment for damaged components and loose or broken connections and wires

Replacing defective components and parts according to specifications such as tubes (valve), condensers, transformer resistors etc.

Making necessary electrical connections according to diagrams and soldering or tightening loose ones

Testing equipment for output, frequency, noise level, audio quality, dial calibration and other factors using oscilloscopes radio frequency and watt meters, ammeters, volt-meters, valve testers etc.

Tuning and aligning radio frequency and watt meters, ammeters, in battery sets and gets them charged or replaces them if necessary

Repairing transistors, television sets and other equipment , if required

Competent in using and operating the tools and equipment needed to repair electronic equipment

Well-versed in basic electrical and electronic theory

Proficient in troubleshooting procedures

Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures

Proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers

Knowledge of repairing and servicingelectronic equipment such as microphones,record player, tape recorders, etc.

Working hours

Electronic companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company Shift system maybeavailable

Being self-employed is an option. In this case the working hours and days are flexible

For candidates with up to 2 years of experience ?INR15,000 to INR 18,000 per month
