The tasks a Radio Craftsman, Maintenance is expected to perform include:

Testing, repairing, servicing and maintaining aircraft radio

Testing, repairing, servicing and maintaining aircraft radio transmitting and receiving sets

Examining equipment for damaged components and loose or broken connection and wires

Testing and replacing defective radio components and parts, such as tubes, condensers, etc.

Making necessary electrical connections according to diagrams and soldering or tightening loose ones

Testing equipment for power output, frequency power, looseantennas and transmission lines, noise level, audio frequency and watt meters, ammeters, voltmeter, tube testers and other appropriate instruments,

Adjusting receivers for sensitivity and transmitters for maximum output

Testing batteries with hydrometers, ammeter, etc. and maintains them fully charged

Performing scheduled test checks of radio equipment during test flights to ensure airworthiness of aircraft

Removing radio instruments and components for bench-checks

Servicing, calibrating and over hauling of radio apparatus as and when necessary

Performing alternations and modifications to radio equipment under guidance of Radio Engineer, Telecommunication

Knowledge about handling all aircraft radio programming and creating the software layout for all radios

Ability to inspect and test the complex radio electrical

Well-versed with fabricating parts and test aids as required

Proficient in calibrating or adjusting radio equipment or instruments to specification

Understand technical information for electronic repair work

Well-versed with radio service or repair manuals

Ability to use hand or power tools

Will be updated

It is not a desk job

Need not handle a team Local travelling is a part of this job role

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Working hours

Electronics companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company Shift system maybe available

Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible

For candidates with up to 2 years of experience INR 20,000 to INR 21,000 per month

For candidates with 2 to 5years of experience?INR26,500toINR30,500 per month

For candidates with over 5 years of experience INR 35,000 to INR 40,000 per month
