The tasks a Synthetic Fibre Maker expected to perform include:
Tending the machine that forces specific liquid solution through fine holes into acid solidifying bath to form synthetic (chemical) textile filaments and winding them into untwisted threads
Starting the machine and catching the ends of filaments as they pass through acid bath
Bringing several ends together, passing them over the guide wheel and attaching them to spool, bobbin or similar winding device
Repeating the process with other filaments
Tying thread together when it breaks and replacing it
Filling the winding devices with empty ones
Knowledge of textile materials properties
Ability to start machines, monitor operation and make adjustments as needed
Adept at tending machines with multiple winding units that wind thread onto shuttle bobbins for use on sewing machines
Well-versed with placing bobbins on spindles and inserting spindles into bobbin-winding machines
Proficiency in using air hoses, cleaning solutions, rags, oilcans and grease guns for cleaning, oiling, and lubricating machines

Knowledge of operating machine with centrifugal arrangement for drawing and piling thread into special boxes

Overview of the Chemical & Petrochemical Sector in India
Global chemical market size was estimated at USD 3.9 trillion in 2013 and is expected to grow at 3-4% per annum over the next 5 years to reach USD 4.7 trillion by 2018. India currently accounts for approximately 3% of the world chemical market. The Indian chemical and petrochemical industry expanded in 2013 despite weakness in key export markets and subdued growth in the domestic market. The Indian chemical and petrochemical industry currently stands at USD 118 billion and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8% for the next five years.
Bulk chemicals form the largest sub-segment of Indian chemical industry with 40% market share whereas the specialty chemical with 19% market share is the fastest growing segment. Together, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh account for more than 50% of Gross Value Add (GVA) and Gross Output of the chemical and petrochemical industry in India.
