The tasks a Box Making Machine Operator (Match) is expected to perform include:

Operating the power-driven machine to fold veneers, pasting them with paper and making complete outer and inner match boxes

Collecting the outer, bottom and rim veneers and examining them for defects

Making necessary adjustment to machine as and when required

Knowledge of starting machine by operating hand levels or by pressing electric button

Proficiency in positioning roll of blue paper on feed rack of machine and drawing end of paper from roll over feed rollers

Well-versed with filling glue reservoir of machine and regulating flow of glue

Knowledge of feeding machine with sorted and dressed veneers, outer rim or bottom as required

Adept at ensuring that glue flows uniformly over blue paper

Well-versed with checking that veneers are moving singly and are folded and pasted properly

Adept at ensuring that outer and inner boxes are finished as required

Knowledge of operating outer box making machine or inner box making machine where two types of veneers (rim and bottom) have to be fed simultaneously

Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 6/7 days a week. This may vary from factory to factory
