Minimum B.E./B. Tech in any disciple with Diploma in Industrial Safety

Minimum experience of 4 years in related field

The tasks a Safety Engineer is expected to perform include:

Inspecting industrial plants/processes/equipment for any type of hazards

Suggesting measures to prevent or reduce industrial accidents or diseases

Examining plans and specifications of new premises, plant or equipment

Identifying hazardous work places and determining amount of weights that can be placed on plant floor with safety

Advising on selection and use of safety equipment

Inspecting fire-fighting equipment and advising on precautions to be taken against fire

Investigating causes of accidents and introducing measures to prevent their recurrence

Planning, organising and carrying out educational programmes on accident prevention

Keeping the workers morale and efficiency in tune with the organisational goals

Knowledge of industry safety regulations mandated by the government

Familiar with various sources or reasons of accidents that can happen in an industry

Knowledge of ISO standards

Skilled in conducting training on safety measures

Knowledge of inspection and survey techniques

Knowledge of personal protective equipment available in the market
