The tasks an Instrument Engineer is expected to perform include:Designing and supervising operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and thermal instruments and control equipment

Studying plant layout and process requirements to determine type and number of items needed

Directing installation, calibration and testing of equipment

Supervising application, inspection and maintenance of instruments in the operation

Skilled in designing and developing new control systems

Efficient in testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems

Ability to manage the project within cost to enhance productivity

Knowledge of selecting the appropriate machinery and equipment for operations

Providing advice and consultancy support

Skilled in writing computer software and test procedures

Knowledge of the latest developments in instrument engineering
