The tasks a Glass Technologist is expected to perform include:Conducting experiments in chemistry of glass

Developing and controlling all the processes involved in manufacture of glass products

Selecting formulae to be used in compounding standard type of glass

Developing new formulae to produce special purpose glass Directing activities of operating crew engaged in compounding ingredients

Ascertaining furnace temperature periodically

Making necessary temperature adjustments

Knowledge of optical glass, glass oven-wear, and coloured glass products

Skilled in determining characteristics of glass samples by subjecting them to chemical and physical test

Knowledge of the latest developments glass development techniques

Familiar with equipment and laboratory installation

Knowledge of batch-control systems

Will be updated

Good communication skills

It is not a desk job

Need to handlea team of operating crew
