The tasks an
Engineering Estimatoris expected to perform include:
Preparing cost and work completion estimates for engineering works
Compiling itemized materials and price lists from blueprints and specializations
Itemizing equipment readily available or to be purchased
Computing cost and estimates of raw material, purchased equipment and labour required
Computing percentage profits and adding to cost estimates
Consulting with engineering departments concerning cost problems
Skilled in preparing detailed estimates for different projects
Efficient in developing multi-discipline concepts and detailed/definitive cost estimates for all projects
Ability to assist in project management and contract negotiations
Knowledge of how to study and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Ability to assist engineers to determine machining operations, tools, gauges and materials required for the job
Knowledge of developing time-phase charts and learning curves for manufacturing of parts, assembly and testing
Knowledge of the latest upgrades and advancements in the field
