The tasks a PPC Engineer is expected to perform include:Ensuring production requirements are met and products delivered to the customer without delay Interacting with the sales team to obtain monthly product demand data

Developing procurement chart based on production plan for future months

Planning production activities based on product demand for the quarter or month

Knowledge of principles and methods of manufacturing

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical modules and components used in the production process

Knowledge of material consumption, i.e., product type and quantity, at each stage of the manufacturing process

Well-versed with the sequence of production and duration of each activity of production process

Knowledge of documents and procedures involved in the schedule development process

Knowledge of prices of different products/components utilised in the manufacturing process

Adept in identifying the likely impact of delay in procurement of various components

Proficient in managing and delegating responsibilities among team members

Strategic Electronics Market in IndiaThe Government feels that it is desirable to focus on production in the strategic electronics sector to ensure acquisition of the state-of-the-art technology. This will have a positive impact for the job roles falling under this sector.The IMaCS analysis reveals that the human resource requirement in the Strategic Electronics sector has been projected to grow from 1,28,000 in 2012 to 4,74,000 in 2022 - that is an increment of 3,46,000 resources.One of the job roles that will have a large positive impact of all these trends is that of a PPC Engineer.
