Flight Dispatcher

The tasks a Flight Operations Officer, Air Service is expected to perform include:

Preparing flight plans based on meteorological reports

Calculating fuel requirements

Issuing flight clearance certificates

Proficient in reviewing flight schedules, flight crew bid sheet for routes, and crew schedules to ensure assignments for schedules and routes are in accordance with personnel qualifications for type of aircraft, federal safety and operational regulations, union contract provisions, and company policy

Experience in studying meteorological reports regarding air-current and preparing flight plans

Proficient in calculating fuel requirements, taking into account air-routes, facilities regarding re-fuelling, etc. for guidance of commander and navigator of aircraft

Knowledge of preparing roster of flight crew for scheduled flights and briefing pilots for journey

Basic knowledge of making sure that other necessary arrangements such as crew for stand-by flights, handing and taking over of flight documents, etc. have been made

Basic knowledge of computers
