Flight Operations Manager

The tasks a Manager, Flight Operations is expected to perform include:

Directing and co-ordinating flight operation and control activities of air transport company terminal station with sub-ordinate management personnel

Proficient in reviewing flight schedules, flight crew bid sheet for routes, and crew schedules to ensure assignments for schedules and routes are in accordance with personnel qualifications for type of aircraft, federal safety and operational regulations, union contract provisions, and company policy

Proficient in conferring with flight crew personnel to resolve any differences regarding schedule and route assignments

Proficient in co-ordinating activities of sections in flight operations department, such as dispatching, flight control, flight training and meteorology, to ensure maximum operating efficiency

Proficient in conferring with administrative personnel, government regulatory agencies, and representatives of other airlines to propose revision and adoption of rules and procedures governing flight operation activities

Proficient in directing preparation of supplemental training materials or revision of operational manuals resulting from changes in rules and procedures.
