Growth in the Capital Goods & Manufacturing, Construction, Iron & Steel and Related Sectors
According to The Foundry Informatics Centre, the Indian metal casting (Foundry Industry) is well established & producing estimated 9.344 Million MT of various grades of castings as per international standards. The various types of castings which are produced are ferrous, non-ferrous, aluminium alloy, graded cast iron, ductile iron, steel, etc. A large variety of metals are used for numerous applications in automobiles, railways, pumps compressors & valves, diesel engines, cement/electrical/textile machinery, aero & sanitary pipes & fittings, etc. This labour intensive industry directly employs about 5,00,000 people and indirectly about 1,50,000 people
The rising demand for metal and metal products across sectors has presented tremendous employment opportunities for Shapers or Shaping Machine Operators.
