Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in relevant field

The tasks a Die Copying Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

Setting and operating special type of electronic or hydraulic die sinking machine for making dies by copying master

Placing master and metal block at appropriate distance on machine table and rigidly securing them in position with bolts and nuts

Selecting tracer pin or feeler and fixing it in machine spindle over master and setting appropriate cutter in other spindle over metal block to be cut

Centering position of tracing pin and cutting tool by adjusting position of master and metal block by movement of machine table according to markings made on block

Lowering spindles to have tracer pin or feeler touch master and cutter set on metal block

Setting feed and speed of machine

Starting machine and regulating flow of coolant over cutter

Observing operation as tracing pin or feeler travels over contours of master die and its reproduction by processes of copying on metal block by cutter

Measuring machined area frequently with precision instruments for length, width and depth

Ensuring exact copying of master pattern

Stopping machine when required to change tracer and cutter according to nature of operation

Continuing operation until master pattern is completely reproduced on metal block

Checking completed die copied on metal block along with master, using precision instruments

Ensuring desired accuracy in all dimensions of final products

Oiling and cleaning machine

Sending machined die for further milling or cutting to secure better or final finish, if necessary

Knowledge of operating, adjusting and monitoring die copying and casting machines
