Minimum Preferably ITICertified training for Calibration Engineer (programme aligned to ELE/Q8002 released by Electronics Sector Skills Development Council)
Minimum one year in medical device testing
The tasks a Calibration Engineer is expected to perform include:
Testing and standardising medical devices under specified conditions
Comparing measurements of medical device with the master equipment
Certifying devices as per manufacturer?s specified standard or customer?s requirement
Understanding medical devices and their applications
Understanding of test and calibration methods and instruments used
Knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical parts of devices and assembly processes Proficiency at dismantling and re-assembly of devices Ability to handle and operate hazardous tools and equipment
Familiarity with common electric and electronics involved in medical devices
Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) precautions Knowledge of emergency procedures to be followed
Physically fit to work under different type of climatic and controlled conditions Willing to travel with equipment
