The tasks an Electrical Engineer, Generation and Supply is expected to perform include:

Planning, installing and maintaining power generating stations, power transmission anddistribution system

Calculating details and preparing sketches

Making drawings with necessary instructions, related to erection of power

Supervising assembly and erection of generation and transformer equipment

Surveying the installation sites of power lines

Testing meters, transformers and other instruments for calibration

Directing erection of distribution lines to carry power to consumers

Attending to breakdowns, by restores power supply within least possible time

Estimating unit cost of power production

Inspecting premises having electrical equipments

Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements

Inviting tenders and comparing them

Suggesting all the purchases to be made

Supervising construction of power houses and sub-stations, if required

Knowledge of drawings of station, sub-station,and transmission lines, etc.

Knowledge of testing meters, transformers, relays and other sensitive instruments

Skilled in calculating suitable tariff rates for supply of power

Ability to supervise construction of powerhouses and sub-stations

Knowledge of electrical power for commercial and industrial structures

Familiar with National Electrical Code

Master?s in Business Administration
