The tasks a Design-for-Manufacture Engineer is expected to perform include:

Converting electrical design drawings to wiring and assembly instructions that are easily understood by assembly technicians

Interacting with the design engineer to understand specifications of product being developed

Comparing specifications of new product with existing and identifying differences in terms of features and functionality

Co-ordinating with the procurement department to ensure timely completion of production process

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical modules and components used in the production process

Knowledge of basic mechanical and structural engineering concepts Proficient in CAD, Auto CAD, Pro E and other design and simulation software

Well-versed with properties of electrical and electronic components frequently used in the manufacturing process

Knowledge of wiring and circuit diagram

Knowledge of basic power systems, motor fundamentals, drive system fundamentals Well-versed in power electronics and motor cabling requirements

Adept in the identification of the correct software to be used and relevant factors to be considered Well-versed with sources and methods for obtaining required technical information for the design

Knowledge of relevant documents and documentation procedures used in the process
