Healthcare Sector in India
According to IBEF, the Indian healthcare industry is growing at a tremendous pace due to its strengthening coverage, services and increasing expenditure by public as well private players. The Indian Healthcare sector grew from $45 billion in 2008 to $81 billion in 2014 and is projected to continue its rapid expansion, with an estimated market value of US$ 280 billion by 2020. This, along with the increasing awareness and spending capacity of the Indian middle class, gives healthcare and medical sector a great boost for future.
Animal breeding can improve the living standards of livestock in rural areas. About 80% of total livestock population in our country is non-descriptive, which needs genetic improvement. Animal Geneticists can make a career in education and research in veterinary universities, agriculture universities, livestock department boards and animal science and fisheries science institutes. This career option is a viable one and offers a very promising future in India.
