Minimum MD of Veterinary Science

Minimum 6 months of internship required

The tasks a Veterinarian, Surgeon is expected to perform include:

Treating injuries and diseases of animals by surgical methods

Examining sick or injured animals to diagnose nature of injury, disability or sickness

Determining course of the treatment

Injecting animals with medicines, where necessary

Operating affected parts of the body and prescribing necessary medicines.

Performing X-rays on injured and affected parts of the body of the animal

Setting dislocated joints and fractured bones by applying plaster of paris, splints of wood and bandaging them

Knowledge of recent updates in veterinary medical science

Knowledge of surgical techniques for different animals

Skilled in providing adequate care to animals

Skilled in curing injuries of the animals

Knowledge of animal welfare laws

Knowledge of different animal diseases and illness

In-depth knowledge of anatomy of animals

It is not a desk job

The candidate will supervise a team of Nurses and other Medical Staff

Local travelling is not a part of this job role

Hospitals/clinics usually work for 6/7 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from hospital to hospital
