Minimum Bachelor?s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry

Minimum 6 months of internship required

The tasks a Veterinarian, General isexpected to perform include:

Investigating and treating diseases, injuries and ailments in animals and undertaking measures to improve livestock

Examining animals for sickness, injuries andother ailments to determine course of treatment

Attendingsurgical cases, where necessary

Conducting castration, artificial insemination and treatment of infertility for controlled and better breed

Inoculating domestic animals, poultry and pet animals periodically against epidemics

Investigating causes of outbreaks of infections and taking preventive measures

Advising owners of animals in correct methods of breeding, feeding, rearing and disease control

Conducting research in laboratories on subjects such as pathology, anatomy, etc.

Performing post-mortem of dead animals to determine cause of death

Knowledge of various animal diseases and illness

Knowledge of common diseases in livestock

Skilled in curing infections in pets and other animals

Basic knowledge of anatomy of animals

Skilled in breeding, feeding and rearing techniques

Proficient in report writing

The candidate will supervise a team of Nurses and other Medical Staff

Local travelling is not a part of this job role

Hospitals/clinics usually work for 6/7 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from hospital to hospital
