Electrical Meter Inspector

Minimum Graduate in any stream

Preferably minimum 1?6 years of experience required

The tasks a Meter Sealer, Electrical is expected to perform include:

Sealing electrical meters, main switch boards and consumers cut-outs using special sealing pliers, wire and lead to prevent tampering and pilferage of current

Visiting consumerpremises, industrial places, etc., connected with electric supply

Checking current supply equipment such as meters, fuse boxes, cut-outs, etc. for proper fixing

Sealing meters main switch cover and cut-outs, where necessary, using wire lead and sealing pliers, to ensure that no one can open or tamper without breaking their respective seals

Making periodical visits to premises to check whether meter seals and switches are intact and are not tampered with for illegal use of electric current

Reporting to superiors of illegal tapping from supply lines

Attending calls to replace fuses

Skilled in inspecting the electric meters thoroughly and reporting any sort of violations

Knowledge of working of meters and fuses

Ability to perform surprise checks at residential and industrial areas

Ability to detect any violation like tampering with the meter, etc. and take necessary action
