Minimum Preferably ITICertified training for Access Controls Installation Technician (programme aligned to ELE/Q4608 released by Electronics Sector Skills Council)

The tasks an Access Controls Installation Technician is expected to perform include:

Installing and integrating the access control system at the customers premisess

Understanding the site layout and requirements of the customer

Suggesting suitable access control systems according to customer and site requirements

Procuring and testing access controls hardware for installation

Achieving targets on monthly installations while ensuring quality of work

Knowledge of access control systems, their design and application

Understanding customer requirements and assessing the site for access control equipment installation

Knowledge of different types of cables used for data transmission and power transmission

Knowledge of hardware and software requirements associated with access control system

Understanding policies, quality standards and safety precautions to be followed during installation

Proficiency in operating tools for cabling and mounting the access control equipment

Understanding of basic electronics involved in hardware

Knowledge of different types of access control equipment in the market, their specifications and price

Knowledge of standard operating procedures Ability to interpret details such as warranty coverage, make, date, availability of equipment

Previous relevant work experience

Detail-orientation and critical thinking

Teamwork skills

Ability to communicate in local language and manage customer relationships

Ability to work for long hours

It needs one to be on their toes
