Growth in the Capital Goods & Manufacturing, Construction, Iron & Steel and Related Sectors
According to The Foundry Informatics Centre, the Indian metal casting (Foundry industry) is well established and produce around 9.344 Million MT of various grades of Castings as per International standards. The various types of castings which are produced are ferrous, non ferrous, aluminium alloy, graded cast iron, ductile iron, steel, etc. A large variety of metals is used for numerous applications in automobiles, railways, pumps compressors & valves, diesel engines, cement/electrical/textile machinery, aeroand sanitary pipes & fittings, etc. The industry directly employs about 5,00,000 people and indirectly about 1,50,000 people and is labour intensive.
