The tasks a Forest Guard is expected to perform include:Patrolling allotted area in the forest for preservation of forest and animals

Cutting climbers with bill-hook to prevent damage to plants

Overlooking maintenance of forest roads, paths and fire lines in his beat

Estimating volume of timber and grading trees according to the quality of timber they produce

Equipped in firefighting operations Knowledge of afforestation methods and techniques Skilled in integrated insect, pest and disease management Skilled in forestry management Proficient in preparing beds for plantation

Familiar with nutrient management of the soil
