The tasks a System Administration Assistant is expected to perform include:
Providing assistance to users of microcomputers and standard software systems at installation and when problem occurs
Installing or reinstalling new computer programmes on particular hardware and operating systems configurations
Installing new peripheral units and making necessary parameter adjustments in operating systems and drives
Proficient in performing back-up operations
Adept with keeping log of computing system
Well-versed with supervising other workers
Proficient in installing new/rebuilding existing servers and configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Adept with installing and configuring systems such as GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications
Well-versed with developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures
Knowledge of repairing and recovering data from hardware or software failures
Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft
Good analytical skills

Current Trends of IT & ITeS Sector in India
In 2012, the Indian IT & ITeS sector crossed the US$100 billion milestone; it grew by almost 1,000 times in the last two decades on the basis of cost arbitration, skill availability and government support. The sector is estimated to grow at an 11.5 percent CAGR over 2008-2013 to reach US$108.4 billion. The IT & ITeS industry is expected to reach US$300 billion by 2020 driven by rising demand in domestic market, along with increasing IT Services exports. The CAGR for 2013-2020 is estimated to be 16 percent.
In the IT Exports segment, a large portion of the workforce is currently engineers and MCAs over 80%. The proportion of graduates of science and other streams engaged in software development is expected to show significant increase from about 5% to 10% currently to about 15% to 20%.The Indian IT and ITeS Industry would record about US $ 220 billion in exports and US $ 60 billion domestically by 2022, totaling to about US $ 260 billion growing at a CAGR of 12.8%.
The sector provides indirect employment to about 9.5 million people. The sector is expected to employ about 5.1 million professionals directly in FY22 and exports are likely to continue to dominate.
