Data Analyst

Minimum B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc or any graduation degree with relevant skills

Freshers or up to 2 years of work experience in IT-ITeS industry

The tasks a Programmer Analyst is expected to perform include:

Analyzing user requirements, current operating procedures and programme objective to modify the programme or to develop new programme

Testing system programme to identify errors and rectify the same for efficient operation

Writing technical report, manuals, drawing flowchart, etc. to document programme development, installation, operation and modification

Knowledge of programming techniques, computer systems and computer language

Proficient in evaluating user requirement, project specification, clinical research trial results, traffic patterns, etc. to develop new programme or to modify the current programme

Adept in determining feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility of new programme with current system and computer capabilities

Well-versed in reading manuals, periodicals and technical reports to develop new programme that meets user requirements

Adept in preparing flowchart and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps programme must follow and to describe logical operation involved

Knowledge of designing computer terminal screen displays

Proficient in entering programme codes into computer system

Adept in reading computer printouts or observing display screen to detect syntax or logic errors during program test

Knowledge of replacing, deleting, or modifying codes to correct errors

Well-versed in analyzing, reviewing, and altering programme to increase operating efficiency or adapting it to new requirements

Proficient in writing technical report, manuals, drawing flowchart, etc. to document programme development, installation, operation and modification

Adept in using computer-aided software tools, such as flowchart design and code generation

Well-versed in providing technical assistance to programme users

Proficient in monitoring performance of programme after implementation

Well-versed in developing programmes for business or technical applications

Overview of IT-ITeS Sector in India

The IT-ITeS industry has been fuelling India?s growth story. In addition to contributing to the country?s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and exports, the industry has played a big role in influencing the socio-economic parameters across the country. Over the same period, the addressable market for Indian software product businesses is estimated to reach USD 290 to 315 billion. The next decade will play a crucial role in bringing about disruptive growth for the Indian Software Products segment, and the annual revenue aggregate of this segment is forecasted to grow from USD 1.4 billion in FY2008 to USD 9.5 to 12 billion by FY2015. Over the past 3 years, the annual revenue aggregate of Indian software product businesses has grown at a CAGR of 44%.

The growth is likely to be in the areas of Business Intelligence (BI), Enterprise Resource Management (ERM), Storage, Security, BFSI, Telecom, Healthcare, Retail, Search Engine Marketing, Mobile Applications, Social Networking, and Online Gaming.

In the IT Exports segment, a large portion of the workforce is currently engineers and MCAs over 80%. The proportion of graduates of science and other streams engaged in software development is expected to show significant increase from about 5% to 10% currently to about 15% to 20%.
