The tasks an Engineer Trainee is expected to perform include:

Assisting in performing the key activities and tasks involved

Good knowledge about appropriate timescales for completing the work and the implications of not meeting them
Well versed with resources needed the work and how to obtain and use them
amiliar with change management procedures, including version control and approvals
Proficiency in using information technology effectively, to input and/or extract data accurately
Ability to identify and refer anomalies in data
Courses/certifications/ trainings relevant to the domain
Ability to multi-task
Decision making
Effective communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a team

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

IT & ITES companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company Shift system maybe available Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible

For freshers INR 15,000 to INR 20,000 per month

Current Scenario and Growth of IT Services Sector in India
The IT services segment is the largest contributor to the IT and ITES Industry, accounting for about 60% of industry revenues. India is one of the fastest-growing IT services markets in the world. It is also the world's largest sourcing destination,accounting for approximately 52 % of the US$ 124-130 billion market. The country's cost competitiveness in providing IT services continues to be its USP in the global sourcing market.
The major segments of the IT service sector are IT Consulting, Application Management, IS Outsourcing, Software development and support. The BFSI, telecom, retail, and manufacturing sectors account for major portion of the IT Services revenues.
Based on the trends witnessed in productivity and the likely growth potential of the IT and ITES industry, it is expected that the industry would result in an incremental employment of about 7.5 million persons directly by 2022. Out of which 3.6 million job opportunities will be in IT service sector.
In the IT Exports segment, a large portion of the workforce is currently engineers and MCAs over 80%. The proportion of graduates of science and other streams engaged in software development is expected to show significant increase from about 5% to 10% currently to about 15% to 20%.
Maximum number of job openings are available in IT & ITES companies across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.
