The tasks a Traffic-Shunter, Railway is expected to perform include:

Marshalling goods and passenger trains in station yard according to instructions received

Receiving instructions from Yard Foreman regarding formation of train, attaching or detaching coaches and wagons to and from trains

Setting lines according to plan and signalling Loco Shunter to proceed towards directions indicated

Knowledge of shifting empty or through coaches and wagons on sidings etc.

Proficient in attaching coaches or wagons by screwing hooks for tightness or unscrews hooks for breaking or re-arranging train or detaching engine

Knowledge regarding formation of train
