The tasks a Designer, Leather Articles is expected to perform include:

Developing designs and cutting patterns for small leather articles

Studying designs of leather products from catalogues

Considering purpose, market trend, preference of potential users, technical specifications and developing improvements or new designs keeping economic aspects and method of production in view

Preparing sketches showing style, shape, size and similar characteristics of product

Submitting the sketches to the management or customer for approval

Altering designs, if necessary

Making technical drawings, models and prototype patterns

Skilled in cutting leather with minimum wastage

Ability to incorporate the designs in the catalogue to leather products

Knowledge of economic aspects that need to be considered

Skilled in understanding and making drawings, models and prototype patterns

Ability to study market trend and customer preferences pattern
