The tasks a Textile, Leather and Related Pattern Makers and Cutters, Other is expected to perform include:

Making marking patterns and cutting textile, leather and other materials in the manufactureof garments, gloves and miscellaneous products

Equipped in testing patterns by making and fitting sample garments

Well-versed with drawing details on outlined parts to indicate where parts are to be joined, as well as the positions of pleats, pockets, buttonholes, and other features, using computers or drafting instruments

Proficient in creating a master pattern for each size within a range of garment sizes, using charts, drafting instruments, computers, and/or grading devices

Well-versed in tracing outlines of specified patterns onto material, and cutting fabric using scissors

Knowledge of computing dimensions of patterns according to sizes, considering stretching of material
