Minimum 5th Certified training for Plumber (Welder) (programme aligned to PSC/Q 005 released by Indian Plumbing Skills Council)

Minimum 2 years of work experience as a semi-skilled helper in lieu of minimum education qualification

The tasks a Plumber (Welder) is expected to perform include: Performing welding activities for plumbing systems

Performing pre-welding activities Performing post-welding activities Following safety and health regulations

Knowledge of the welding procedure

Knowledge of pre-installation procedures

Working knowledge of relevant tools and equipment

Basic knowledge of terminology used in sanitary welding

Knowledge of how to perform material calculations

Detailed knowledge of the types and features of welded joints

In-depth knowledge of various welding techniques

Knowledge of the proper material disposal procedure

Knowledge of the post-welding quality check procedure

Knowledge of how to perform basic mathematical calculations

Previous on-the-job training

Good communication skills
