The tasks a Repair Welder is expected to perform include:

Determining therequired equipment for the welding method being used

Identifying different materials needed for the welding process

Repairing metal components through welding

Assisting in setting up of the necessary equipment

Operating manual and automated welding units

Assisting in examining the finished goods

Comparing the finished foods with the samples

Proficiency in choosing the appropriate material or alloy to use while welding a particular metal

Knowledge of the various welding techniques used

Familiar with the usage of tools and equipment used in the welding process

Skill to inspect the cause of defect or damage in the part to be welded

Knowledge of using both manual and automated tools for welding

Basic knowledge of vehicle parts and machinery

Knowledge of processes involved for maintaining the equipment used for welding

Good stamina

Manual dexterity

On-the-job training for ASDC Welder certificate holders

Graduate degree/diploma in any disciple

Team player

It is not a desk job

May or may not need to handle a team

Travelling is not required for this job

Working hours

Working is 9 hours everyday for 6 days a week
