Electronic Bench Technician, Repair Person
Minimum Preferably ITI Certified training for LED Light Repair Technician (programme aligned to ELE/Q9302 released by Electronics Sector Skills Council of India)
1 year experience in LED Light repair
The tasks an LED Light Repair Technician is expected to perform include:
Checking the non-functional LED light in a systematic manner
Dismantling and finding out the fault
Repairing the fault
Reassembling the light to make it functional
Knowledge of various electronic and electrical components, materials and their specific properties and usages
Well-versed with basics of power electronics and its usages in lighting controls, or LED power supplies and LED drivers
Proficiency in handling precautions to be taken during LED luminary testing
Well-versed with 5S standards (sorting, setting, standardise, sustain, shining) + safety, security

Growth Estimates of LED Lighting Sector in India
As per the latest LMIS study done by iMaCS, LED sector has been identified as an emerging sector in which there would be high employment opportunities in both service as well as manufacturing space in near future. Current market size in LED lighting is3065 Crores and 10469 Crores for Lighting (Source ELCOMA) with 500 companies engaged in the same. Therefore, LED lighting has been added as an additional sub-sector in the electronics domain by the Council.
It is predicted that by 2020, the lighting industry would have expanded significantly, with LED lighting accounting for over 50 per cent of the total lighting market in India. India?s newly-formed government?s emphasis on energy-efficient lighting systems will also give a boost to the manufacturers and, in turn, generate employment for this sector. A career in this industry will have brighter prospects in the future.
