The tasks a Manager, Poultry Farm is expected to perform include:

Managing farm on behalf of employer

Arranging sale of produce by determining price of eggs and stock of different ages

Determining varieties of poultry to be raised

Purchasing feed, eggs, chicken and incubators

Making provision for proper sanitation and medical facilities for chickens

Co-ordinating work of various sections and controlling office staff

Achieving fixed target of production and yield profit

Taking preventive measures against spread of bird diseases and spread of epidemics

Keeping breeding records

Maintaining all accounts and correspondence related to the farm

Knowledge of record keeping

Efficient in site maintenance and site up-keep

Skilled in supervising staff and third parties on site whilst adhering to health & safety procedures

Skilled in handling and managing the proper disposal of poultry bye-products

Basic knowledge of the latest development in livestock maintenance

Efficient in getting the newly born chickens vaccinated at proper ages so as to prevent spread of epidemics

Proficient in basic arithmetic

Skilled in negotiating and drafting contracts with local buyers

Skilled in supervising arrangements for feeding, breeding, hatching

Knowledge of organic and free range poultry

Will be updated

Good leadership skills

Strong Communication skills

Good Interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently

Hardworking and persistent

Self-motivated

Ability to negotiate
