The tasks of a Dress Diver is expected to perform include:
Diving and working below surface of water, using scuba gear or in diving suit with airline extending to surface
Inspecting, repairing, removing and installing equipment and structures
Equipping with scuba gear and descends into water with aid of helper
Inspecting docks, bottoms and propellers of ship
Communicating with surface by signal line and telephone
Repairing vessels below waterline
Replacing missing and leaking rivets with bolts
Assisting in salvage of parts of wrecked ships and lost articles under-water
Knowledge of diving
Knowledge of installing and repairing equipment?s
Ability to communicate through signalling and telephone
Ability to stay underwater for long hours
Proficient in cleaning debris from intake and discharge strainers
Knowledge of cutting and welding steel using oxyacetylene cutting torch and arc-welding equipment
Ability to focus for long hours
Diligent and hardworking
Ability to follow instructions
Good communication skills
Highly motivated and self-driven
