The tasks a Shell Gatherer is expected to perform include:

Diving to the bottom of the to sea-bed to collects or gather molluscs, crustaceans and other fancy shells by hand

Diving to the sea-bed around 20 feet in depth

Making use of hands to gather different types of shells such as clams, oysters, mussels, crabs, etc.

Coming to the surface with catch and storing them

Repeating the gathering process as required

Gathering sponges if desired or asked to

Operating power driven boats

Fishing in deep waters

Washing and cleaning the gathered shells

Going to the sea shore at low tide so as to easily collect shell fish, crabs, etc. from the inshore area

Skilled in diving to the bottom of the to sea-bed at about 20 feet in depth

Proficient in gathering molluscs, crustaceans and other fancy shells by hand

Knowledge of different types of shells such as clams, oysters, mussels, crabs, etc.

Skilled in operating power driven boats
